P7 had a fantastic World Book Day celebration! ๐๐
Inspired by the talented Sarah Bowie, we immersed ourselves in her world, sketching vibrant characters. Adding a twist, we blended literature with maths, solving intriguing problems. To top it off, an Adobe Express live lesson fuelled our creativity, resulting in stunning posters showcasing our beloved books.
The P7s delved into the world of rugby with enthusiasm during taster sessions led by Ballynahinch Rugby Club coach, Johnny Cullen.
Under his guidance, they eagerly absorbed valuable skills such as passes, safe tackling techniques, and engaging team-building exercises.
These sessions not only honed their individual rugby abilities but also emphasised the importance of effective communication within a team setting.
Coach Jonny's expertise provided a dynamic and educational experience, leaving the P7s with newfound rugby knowledge and enhanced teamwork capabilities.
The P7s embarked on their sponsored walk for Trócaire with unwavering determination, facing the elements to support a noble cause.
Their resilience shone through as they navigated the RGU grounds.
The P7s demonstrated their commitment to making a positive impact, contributing to the success of the charitable endeavor.

We dove into Children's Mental Health Week with a fantastic workshop by EA Reach.
Engaging discussions about what matters to us, teamwork games encouraging communication, and a focus on finding out more about each other, made this an important and thought-provoking session.

Exciting day at the St Patrick's Centre with P7AL and Rang 7!
We dove into Irish history, exploring the life of St Brigid, crafted beautiful St Brigid crosses and visited St Brigid's grave.

Today we got to meet our new P1 buddies!
We spent the afternoon getting to know each other, doing some arts and crafts and reading stories together.
We can't wait for our next buddy session!
In the spirit of our Apprentice topic, P7AL collaborated in their Apprentice teams to create very impressive chocolate bar wrappers. They appointed a project manager, worked cohesively and showcased their ICT design skills using Canva and persuasive writing techniques developed throughout Literacy this term. Excellent work P7 ๐
A big thank you to Fiona Shannon who took P7s for their first handball coaching session. P7AL were mastering their underarm passes and getting familiar with the rules of handball. The class are so excited to continue their coaching over the next six weeks!
Our talented P7 classes have been hard at work creating stunning Christmas centrepieces to sell as part of their Apprentice topic ๐ซ
They collected jars, handcrafted the centrepieces and sold their artwork all to raise funds for school trips later in the year. Well done P7! ๐
P7AL embarked on an historical educational trip to the Down County Museum where they immersed themselves in the mysteries of the Stone Age, exploring artefacts, handling ancient weapons and embracing the role of archaeologists in a hands-on learning experience ๐
The outdoor classroom became a culinary hub as P7AL enthusiastically crafted vegetable soup, showcasing their teamwork and culinary skills. We used our practical experience to create some fantastic posters that included features of our persuasive writing genre. โ๏ธ ๐
