Flahavan's Cross-Country Championship

This morning our newly formed running club headed off to the Castlereagh Hills to compete against the finest young athletes County Down has to offer in The Flahavan's Ulster Cross-Country Championship.

Although we were seen as the new kids on the circuit upon arrival, we certainly weren't seen that way when we left.

The children represented their school with respect, class and dignity. Their determination and comradery was second to none.

In all three races the children didn't once look out of place and all finished in respectable positions. We await team scoring results to see our final finish position.

However, this result means nothing to the coaches as each of our athletes left the field with a sense of achievement, confidence levels soaring and a huge smile from ear to ear. They felt like they were on top of the world and to us that is 100% a victory.

We go again on Thursday and prepare for our next race in December.
