Geometry in Action: Investigating Quadrilaterals!
Our classroom turned into a geometry lab this week as we dove deep into the world of quadrilaterals. We moved beyond the textbook to explore these four-sided shapes through hands-on investigation and some fresh air.
We started indoors, using pencils and rulers to "map out" the properties of different shapes. From the perfect symmetry of squares to the leaning angles of parallelograms, students worked to identify:
-
Parallel lines
-
Right angles
-
Equal side lengths
Once we mastered the theory, we took our learning outside! Equipped with colorful chalk, students scaled up their designs. We transformed the playground into a giant gallery of geometric art!
It was a fantastic way to see how the properties we study in class translate to the real world. Check out our gallery below to see our young mathematicians in action!
