  • World Mental Health Day // Take 10 at 10 // Adobe Live Lesson

    Published 10/10/23

Today we celebrated World Mental Health day! We all wore something yellow and raised awareness for AwareNI - mental health charity.

We took 10 minutes at 10am to read our class novel together. This gave us time to talk and discuss the book with each other, time to relax and escape into a great story. After our webinar with Susie Dent, we discovered that research has shown that when you read and write positive words more frequently, this can positively impact your mindset.

We also had an Adobe Express Live Lesson in which we made posters using 'Adobe Create' to spread awareness of mental health and the importance of keeping a healthy, happy mind.

  • EA Reach - Confidence and Self Esteem Workshop

    Published 05/10/23

Each Wednesday, we have a wonderful workshop with Aoife from EA Reach. She helps to us understand our emotions, develop our confidence and boost our self-esteem. We have been learning about the different breathing techniques we can use when our emotions feel 'heightened'. We had the opportunity to identify where we feel our emotions. This isn't always in our heads, we can feel our emotions all over our body, and we identified how emotions can cause physical feelings. This workshop allowed us to become more 'in tune' with our emotions and identify ways to relax our brains and 'ground' ourselves.
