  • Outdoor Learning Day

    To celebrate Outdoor Learning Day we took our Numeracy lesson on data handling to the gates of the school.

    We have been revising how to gather data, collate it and then present it using an appropriate format, and today we focused on 'Number of Coloured Cars on Edward Street during a 15 Minute Period'. In pairs, we monitored the cars that passed us on the road and recorded our data using our clipboards before choosing which type of graph we should use to present it.

  • Wee Critters Visit

    To enhance the children's understanding of their Rainforest topic, Wee Critters visited Primary 6 today. The pupils had the opportunity to meet, encounter and learn about a variety of rainforest animals. Then, those who dared were able to get some hands on (and head on) experience getting very close to the creatures. The children absolutely loved Allan and his wonderful variety of animals and many left with ideas for new pets...

  • Library Visit

    This year we have been focusing on developing our reading skills and trying to enhance our interests in the materials we read. We have linked with our local library here in Downpatrick to learn about how we can access a breadth of wonderful books and resources as well as understand how best we can utilise this service. Fortunately we will have the opportunity to visit the library three times this term.
